F5 Financial, a fee-only financial advisory firm with locations in multiple states, wanted to improve its local and national search rankings and expand its brand.

When F5 Financial approached Digital Dynamo in 2021, its team had built a name for itself through word-of-mouth and referral marketing. They now wanted to dominate in search results and bring in more organic, inbound leads through their website.

The engagement started with a site audit, where Digital Dynamo evaluated technical, on-page, off-page, and local signals impacting their SEO. The audit helped us develop a strategy that focused on SEO improvement across the board, but particularly for the on-page and local portions of their SEO.

At the onset, Digital Dynamo’s main focus was developing optimized service pages that targeted keywords related to their services. This was essential for their on-page SEO. The F5 Financial team are very savvy advisors, so we conducted interviews with them to imbue the content we created with their investing expertise and philosophy, and devotion to client service.

We also focused on local SEO by building out their Google Business Profiles and developing robust location pages filled with rich content. Other project parts included speed optimization, technical fixes, building relevant backlinks, and building more client reviews.

Regular monthly meetings were held to review progress, provide training, and adjust the strategy.

RESULTS

This initial optimization was in place by the end of November 2021. In February 2022, the site’s search rankings began to dramatically increase for its Naperville location, with a full-on surge by March of 2022.

Had 4.57% visibility in Naperville, IL
Had 5.98% visibility in the Venice, FL region
Had 18.26% visibility in the McDonough, GA region

Had 21 terms in the top 3 nationally

8 months after our optimization, the F5 Financial website:

Ranked for 1,118 national keywords
Had 31% visibility in Naperville, IL
Had 16% visibility in the Venice, FL region
Had 28% visibility in the McDonough, GA region
Had 4 featured snippets
Had 48 rankings in the local pack, nationally and locally
Had 31 terms in the top 3 nationally

Nearly 3 years after the initial optimization of the F5 Financial website, the site’s national and local rankings are still strong, and we have been able to extrapolate our experience doing SEO for a fee-only – and local – financial advisory website to help other fee-only financial advisors dominate their local search rankings.
